EXPERIENCE
Mary & Jane
During the fall semester of my senior year, I took an Entrepreneurship in Practice course that required me to complete an internship at a local start-up. Through a previous manager, I was connected to the
co-founders of the microdosed cannabis brand, Mary & Jane, and that was just the beginning of the best internship experience I have ever had. Being that Mary & Jane had not yet launched when I joined the team, I had the opportunity to see the brand before, during, and after launch - an extremely valuable experience when it comes to understanding all that goes into starting a business. While I spent the majority of my time working side-by-side the co-founders to create content for the brand’s social media platforms and publish posts to the brand’s blog, I also had the chance to complete hands-on work such as packing and fulfilling orders and attending influencer events to promote the brand. It was through this internship that I discovered my talent and passion for communications and public relations, and because of that, I was hired to continue writing the brand’s blog posts. RBC Wealth Management
In the summer between my junior and senior year of college, I had a Marketing & Communications internship at RBC Wealth Management in Minneapolis, MN. Through this internship, I had the chance to learn more about the financial products and services that are on the market, and I had the chance to develop my project management skills by managing various projects in the marketing department. The initial project that I was assigned was called the “Lift & Shift” and it involved updating and transferring 60+ informational ecards from Microsoft Outlook to Salesforce Marketing Cloud. To complete the project in an organized fashion, I built out and managed the project in the project management tool, Workfront. Throughout this project, I found excitement in organizing the communication between the various teams and making sure the timelines remained on track. This internship and project management experience prepared me for my future career by equipping me with the tools and skills that are necessary to complete the future projects that I am assigned in a timely and thorough manager.
Evereve
I have always loved fashion and style, and so, being able to style people for my job is a dream. Evereve is unique in that its sales associates are all trained in styling customers based on their body type and fashion preferences. This training creates an enjoyable shopping experience for the customers because they can trust that their stylist is making sure that the pieces being tried on are on-trend and flattering, resulting in more confident purchases. I know how confident a well styled outfit makes me feel, so being able to help women have that same confidence is why I love this job so much. Not to mention, I have also developed valuable customer service and people skills through this job that have served useful in both my personal and professional life.
Allianz Life
For the summer of 2022, I was an Enterprise Operations intern at Allianz Life in Golden Valley, MN. This internship was pivotal for me in that it was my first internship and experience being in a corporate setting. Throughout this internship, I worked on a combination of individual and group projects. The main individual project that I worked on improved my data analyzation skills through analyzing the contact center’s customer satisfaction responses and selecting noteworthy data to present to the department’s directors each week in an effort to improve customer service. The main group project that I worked on improved my interviewing and presentation skills through interviewing managers in the IT department to learn about their data literacy and then presenting recommendations of tools, such as Power BI, that they could leverage to improve data utilization. I have always known that I loved the business industry, but this internship truly reinforced that for me and inspired me to want to pursue a successful career in it.
